Psychological and Psychoeducational Assessment
I assess children ages 6 years through college entry. Often, parents come with concerns about their child’s academic and social-emotional functioning, while also conveying their child’s unique strengths that need to be recognized. By taking time to understand your child and the world they live in, my evaluations provide a thorough and personal account of how to harness your child’s strengths to facilitate growth. You will also begin to understand how environmental factors might be contributing to your child’s struggles, and what caregivers can do to support your child’s growth and wellbeing.
Psychological Therapy
Child Therapy
I view parents as my strongest partners. You can expect me to coordinate with you often while also providing a safe and confidential space for your child. Sometimes, I work with parents of young children directly, allowing you to share your expertise about your child while developing unique strategies to work through parenting’s difficult moments.
Teen Therapy
Teens can expect more autonomy in therapy, but we will also develop a teamwork approach with parents. My goal is to help teens develop strategies to meet their emotional needs, while also developing the skills needed to talk more openly with caregivers about their needs and concerns.
Therapy for Parents
Balancing life’s demands can be overwhelming. Sometimes, parents want to set aside time for themselves while they go about maintaining the balancing act of family life. I utilize knowledge of adult mental health, common family stressors, and challenging child behaviors to help parents accomplish their own mental health goals.
