Meet Christy
Hi! I’m Dr. Christina Marvin, a Kansas Licensed Psychologist. I was born and raised in Wichita, and I’m a Wichita State Shocker through and through. I received my entire college education, from Bachelor’s to a PhD in Clinical Psychology, from WSU. GO SHOCKS!! Currently, I’m raising my own family in Wichita.
Prior to opening Sunflower State Psychology, I was the Psychology Clinic Director at WSU. I have also enjoyed providing mental health consultation and therapy within WSU Athletics, and therapy and assessment for a variety of presenting concerns for adults and children at Prairie View Community Mental Health Center. I truly love serving our community.
I am trained in cognitive and behavioral therapies for adults, children, and families. I work alongside families to help build on strengths while brushing up the rough edges that cause life’s snags. I help children learn about their thoughts and feelings to help them make good choices, while also helping parents develop parenting strategies that work best for their unique child. Always, my intention is to be a part of each family’s team, with the goal of helping life run as smooth as possible.
For families seeking assessment services, I utilize evidence-based assessments to identify the emotional, behavioral, and learning strengths and challenges your child may be facing. My evaluations provide insight into what unique factors are causing your child’s struggles, what strengths they have to capitalize on, and provide a clear path to promote your child’s success.
